Terms and Conditions

Welcome to The DIY Wedding Video Company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By purchasing any package or using our services, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Our Services

We offer DIY wedding videography packages, including:

  • Mobile Memories: Guests film with their own smartphones and upload footage via a custom QR code.

  • Rented Retro Reels: We provide Sony Handycam camcorders, lavalier microphones, and everything your guests need to film your day in nostalgic style.

Optional editing add-ons (sold separately) include:

  • Social Media Edit (1–2 minutes) – £99

  • Short Film Edit (4–6 minutes) – £149

  • Feature Edit (8+ minutes) – £199
    Note: Final edit length may vary depending on footage provided.

2. Booking and Payment

  • Full payment is required to secure your booking.

  • Prices are listed in GBP.

  • Payments are processed via Stripe. Optional add-ons may be purchased at any time before editing begins.

3. Shipping, Returns & Equipment

(For Rented Retro Reels only)

  • Equipment is shipped to your address at least 3–5 working days before your event.

  • You must return all items using the provided prepaid label within 3 working days after your event.

  • Late returns may incur a fee of £25 per day.

Damage or Loss:

  • You are fully responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to rented equipment.

  • If any item is not returned or is returned damaged, you agree to pay the full replacement cost:

    • Camcorder: £200

    • Lav Mic Set: £250

    • Battery or SD card: £25

  • We will contact you first regarding any damage or missing items. If payment is not made within 7 days, we reserve the right to initiate a charge via Stripe (note: this requires prior setup of an authorisation agreement or saved card token; contact us if you’d like to set this up at checkout).

4. Footage Ownership & Marketing Use

  • You retain full ownership of all footage recorded by your guests.

  • By submitting footage to us for editing or organisation, you grant us permission to use clips for marketing and promotional purposes (e.g. on our website, social media, or ads).

  • If you prefer to keep your footage private, simply email us at info@diyweddingvideocompany.com and we’ll remove it immediately — no questions asked.

5. Editing & Delivery

  • Editing turnaround is typically 4–6 weeks from when we receive all your footage.

  • One round of basic revisions is included.

  • Additional changes may incur a charge depending on complexity.

6. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Cancellations made more than 21 days before your event will receive a full refund.

  • Cancellations within 21 days may be subject to a 50% fee.

  • No refunds will be issued once equipment has been shipped.

7. Limitations of Liability

  • We are not responsible for poor-quality or missing footage due to user error, misuse, or technical issues caused by guests.

  • We take every care to deliver on time, but are not liable for shipping delays caused by external couriers.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled by UK courts.
